The Whoisy Commitment: No Accounts, No Query Logs, No Traffic Inspection

whoisy.online is built on the principle of minimal data collection. We do not require account registration, we do not log diagnostic queries (such as domain names or IP searches), and we never inspect or intercept traffic routed through publicly indexed proxy nodes.

1. Core Philosophy & Overview

Welcome to whoisy.online. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you interact with our network diagnostic tools, developer utilities, and public proxy indexes.

Unlike traditional platforms that harvest personal data for commercial profiling or cross-site behavioral advertising, whoisy.online operates without user accounts. You never have to provide your name, physical address, email address, or payment details to access our public suite of tools.

2. Zero-Log Public Proxies & Node Directory

whoisy.online aggregates and tests publicly shared Telegram MTProto proxies and V2Ray / Xray configurations (including VLESS, VMess, and Trojan protocols) to assist users with accessibility and network diagnostics.

Key Operational Distinctions:
  • Third-Party Infrastructure: whoisy.online does not own, operate, or physically host the proxy servers or V2Ray endpoints indexed on our platform. They are scraped from public community channels.
  • No Traffic Routing: Traffic between your device and a proxy server connects directly to the remote third-party node. Your data packets and DNS lookups do not pass through whoisy.online servers.
  • Zero Traffic Logs: Because we do not route proxy traffic, whoisy.online cannot and does not inspect, log, store, or decrypt any websites visited, messages sent, or data transferred through these proxies.
  • Security Reminder: Community-sourced proxies should be used for testing and connectivity. Never transmit sensitive credentials or unencrypted confidential information across untrusted public nodes.

3. Diagnostic Tool Inputs & Transient Processing

Our web platform features two distinct categories of utilities:

Server-Assisted Lookups

WHOIS, Domain Age Checker, IP Lookup, Reverse DNS, Ping, HTTP Status, Subdomain Finder, Sitemap Checker.

When you input a domain, IP address, or sitemap URL, our backend performs a live lookup against authoritative registries (RDAP/WHOIS port 43), upstream DNS, or target hosts. Queries are processed in transient server memory solely to return the response. We do not save your search inputs to persistent query databases or search logs.

100% Client-Side Tools

Base64 Encoder/Decoder, Hash Generator, JSON Validator, Password Generator, QR Code Generator, Text Diff Checker, Chmod & Subnet Calculators.

These tools execute 100% within your local web browser using standard client-side Web APIs and JavaScript. Input texts, passwords, and JSON payloads never leave your computer and are never transmitted over the internet to our backend.

4. Cookies & Local Browser Storage

whoisy.online does not use tracking cookies, cross-site advertising cookies, or behavioral surveillance mechanisms.

Browser LocalStorage Usage:

  • whoisy_theme: Remembers your selected theme (dark, light, or system default).
  • whoisy_map_theme: Saves your preferred map visual styling for IP geolocation previews.
  • whoisy_user_prefs: Stores client-side interface state preferences.
  • whoisy_pwa_installed: Prevents repetitive PWA installation prompts once addressed.

You can clear your browser storage or delete cookies at any time via your browser settings without impacting your ability to use the site.

5. Upstream Integrations & Third-Party APIs

To deliver real-time diagnostic intelligence, our servers interact with trusted public internet infrastructure services:

  • IP Geolocation Data: Non-commercial IP lookups query ip-api.com to resolve general geographical details (country, city, ISP/ASN).
  • Domain Registries & RDAP: Domain registration and expiration dates are queried directly from official ICANN, regional TLD WHOIS servers, and rdap.org.
  • DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH): Encrypted DNS lookups are resolved via Cloudflare (cloudflare-dns.com) or Google Public DNS (dns.google).
  • Performance Analytics: We use privacy-friendly Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics (GA4) with IP anonymization enabled solely to understand aggregate page load speeds and visitor counts. No advertising identifiers are gathered.

6. URL Shortener Data Storage

When you use our URL Shortener tool (/tools/url-shortener), we record only the destination URL and a unique short code in our database to facilitate redirect routing (/s/[shortId]). We do not log the creator’s IP address, device fingerprint, or user agent when creating shortened links.

7. GDPR, CCPA & Data Subject Rights

Under global privacy frameworks like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), individuals have rights regarding their personal data, including the right of access, rectification, and deletion.
